eNTERFACE'06 American Sign Language Database with manual and non-manual signs

This database is prepared during the eNTERFACE'06 workshop, in Project 3, for an application called SignTutor.

The signs are selected such that there are eight base signs that represent words and their systematic variations in the form of non-manual signs, or inflections in the signing of the same manual sign.

A single web camera, with 640 $\times$ 480 resolution and 25 frames per second rate is used for the recordings. The camera is placed in front of the subject. The database is collected from eight subjects, each performing five repetitions of each sign. The users wear colored gloves, a yellow glove on their left hands and a blue glove on their right hands.

The format of the files is as follows:
Each directory contains examples from one subject. The format of the files in the directory is as follows:
[nameofSigner]_[nameofSign]_[repetitionNumber].avi
